According to Canon Law, "in each parish there is to be a finance council to help the parish priest in the administration of the goods of the parish, without prejudice to canon 532."

Roles of the Parish Finance Council

The Finance Council assists the pastor in fulfilling his administrative duties in regards to financial resources, property, staff, and stewardship education.
Provides Church law:
- Advice
- Assistance
Is composed of at least three members, highly recommended that lay trustees be members of this council.
Meets at least quarterly or as often as needs of the parish dictate.
