According to Canon Law, "in each parish there is to be a finance council to help the parish priest in the administration of the goods of the parish, without prejudice to canon 532."
Roles of the Parish Finance Council
- The Finance Council assists the pastor in fulfilling his administrative duties in regards to financial resources, property, staff, and stewardship education.

Provides Church law:
- Advice
- Assistance
- Is composed of at least three members, highly recommended that lay trustees be members of this council.
- Meets at least quarterly or as often as needs of the parish dictate.
